Online Sound Spectrum Frequency Analyzer

Test The Frequencies of Your Sound Healing Instruments

How to Use the Online Sound Spectrum Frequency Analyzer

1 Select the Number of Frequency Peaks

Choose how many frequency peaks you’d like to measure (the analyzer can display 1–6). We recommend selecting the maximum number for the most detailed results. [Click here to learn about healing resonance and frequencies]

2 Enable Microphone Access

Allow the analyzer to access your device’s microphone by switching it ON.

3 Close Other Microphone-Using Apps.

If you have other apps open that use your microphone (e.g., Viber, WhatsApp, Zoom, Skype), please close them, as they may interfere with the analyzer’s performance.

4 Reading the Horizontal Line

The horizontal line indicates the frequency of the sound source. The analyzer can measure frequencies from 0 Hz to 10,000 Hz.

5 Reading the Vertical Lines

The vertical lines on the left and right edges indicate sound intensity (loudness). The tallest peaks represent the loudest partials—these may be harmonics or overtones.

6 Identifying Fundamentals and Overtones

When testing singing bowls, the overtones may sometimes appear louder (higher amplitude) than the fundamental. The first high peak on the left is the fundamental frequency. All peaks to the right are overtones.

7 Using the “Freeze Analyzer” Feature

To record your instrument’s frequencies, turn Freeze Analyzer ON. This will pause the display so you can write down the readings.

8 Understanding Dual Frequencies

Each sound partial of a Himalayan (Tibetan) singing bowl is defined by two frequencies. The interaction between these creates the characteristic pulsating sound, known as beats.
